Marry My Husband Review
Shin Yoo-dam wrote the 2024 South Korean television series Marry My Husband, which starred Park Min-young, Song Ha-yoon, Lee Yi-kyung, and Na In-woo. It is based on the same-titled online book that was serialized as a webtoon. From January 1, 2024, until February 20, 2024, it was shown on tvN every Monday and Tuesday at 20:50. Aside from South Korea and China, it can also be streamed on TVING in that country and on Amazon Prime Video in a few other countries.

The series starts on April 12, 2023, when Kang Ji-won is diagnosed with stomach cancer and is near death. Following a fight in which she witnesses her husband, Park Min-hwan, having an affair with her closest friend, Jeong Su-min, Ji-won is unintentionally killed by Min-hwan. Then, after her late father's spirit intervened, Ji-won unexpectedly finds herself at her job in 2013, having been sent back in time. She learns that she must transfer her misery to others in order to enjoy a better existence as she relives her life with the same knowledge and facts as in the prior timeline. She then decides that the only way to get revenge and get out of her terrible situation is to make Su-min wed Min-hwan.
My reaction to this series...
I have wanted to watch this for a long time since it was recommended to me by a colleague who also enjoys watching Korean dramas, but I was so busy in the past that I forgot to watch it. It was only recently, when I subscribed to Amazon Prime, that I thought of watching it.
I was captivated right from Episode 1. Although I had some hints or ideas about the flow of the story, I was truly hooked and I want to know how the husband and his friend, who betrayed her, will be punished. For me, her spouse is perfectly matched with her friend because they are both irritating. The artists are excellent at acting as I am completely immersed in the scene and the villains perfectly capture my annoyance towards them. Su-min is truly terrible. Even though I found out the story behind why she became like that, she's still annoying and to me, her reason for being that way isn't valid. I mean, in real life, envy can really make someone do things they will eventually regret one day.
I'm also getting butterflies over the male lead; he's so handsome and I love how protective his character is. He really loves the female lead. It's good that he got the ending he dreamed of. I was also wondering what would happen to the male antagonist, but when I watched it and my guess about him came true, it felt satisfying because the female lead got her justice.
Now I know why many got hooked here because the artists are great and the story flows well. I highly recommend this. No boring moments.
My Overall Rating: 📽️📽️📽️📽️(4/5)
